Live Sports at The Harp

The Harp has always been Wilmington's go-to destination for live sports viewing — particularly international football (soccer), rugby, and GAA, alongside the major American sports leagues. Multiple screens throughout the pub mean you'll never miss the action.

Football (Soccer)

Ireland's passion for football is infectious, and The Harp brought that passion to Wilmington. We showed Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, and MLS matches regularly, with major tournaments — the World Cup, European Championships, Copa América — shown live on all screens.

The U.S. Soccer Federation notes that North Carolina is among the fastest-growing soccer markets in the country — and venues like The Harp played a real role in building that fan base in Wilmington.

Rugby

Rugby union holds a special place in Irish sporting culture, and The Harp was proud to show Six Nations, Rugby World Cup, and Heineken Champions Cup matches. Ireland's national rugby team draws devoted fans wherever Irish pubs operate, and The Harp was no exception.

GAA Sports

Gaelic football and hurling — the ancient Irish field sports organized by the Gaelic Athletic Association — are among the most compelling team sports in the world. The Harp showed All-Ireland Championship matches for the Irish-American community in Wilmington who wanted to follow their counties from across the Atlantic.

American Sports

Great sports are great sports. The Harp showed NFL games on Sundays, college football, NBA playoffs, MLB, and major boxing events. Our Sunday football setup was particularly popular — a Harp Burger and a beer during the game is one of life's underrated pleasures.

Game Day Experience

The Harp's game day experience was defined by the atmosphere. Unlike sports bars dominated by screens and sound systems, The Harp's pub setting meant you were watching with a proper crowd — people who cared about the match, who groaned at the misses and erupted at the goals.

For the best seats during major matches, we recommended arriving 30 minutes before kickoff. For food and drink options on game day, see our full menu, or check this week's drink specials.
